ATTENTION folks - this map is about LRSD board elections NOT about student attendance assignments! Proposed borders of 7 zones only affect which board member will be on a particular voter's ballot, because the voter lives in the zone the member would represent. No change to where kids go to school

Zone 5 boundary should be Markham so Williams Magnet is part of Forest Hgts/Hall High K-12 'hood concerns (& walkable) as has been since 1960’s, and so unified against 3 nearby Catholic schools. It's unnatural & nutty to put this Evergreen/Hughes/Mississippi box (with Williams Magnet) in Zone 6.
Aaron Conrad
Stiff Station/Capitol View should not be zone 7. These neighborhoods would make more sense in zone 5 or even in zone 6.

Unnatural nutty cutout putting Evergreen Hughes Mississippi box (& Williams Magnet) in Zone 6.
Zone 5 boundary should be Markham so Williams Magnet part of FH & Hall High shared K-12 area & concerns (and walkable) just as was since ~60’s, and so unified against 3 Catholic schools.

The map - for equal representative government - should be based solely on population and logical boundaries. It should not be gerrymandered in consideration of school locations, incumbent addresses, demographics, voting patterns, etc. That said, 2 is superior to 1 because of population distribution.

It’s odd that this portion of John barrow is in a different t zone than the other half. John barrow is a major thoroughfare and a “community”.

Have you considered adding foxcroft to zone 5?
Kay Kay Cutler
I think this portion should be part of zone 5, using markham as a boundary line.
Aaron Conrad
Why does zone 6 include this portion of the Briarwood neighborhood? Instead of using Markham, a major thoroughfare, as the line it cuts out portions of the Hall High neighborhood and uses Evergreen as an arbitrary line.

Thanks for adding PHE and PHMS back into Zone 5.

Another option here is to have the west border of zone 5 be along Mississippi south of Cantrell, and along the western Jefferson Elementary School zone (west of River Ridge) or between Foxcroft and Robinwood north of Cantrell. Then Zone 5 between MS and Reservoir/Old Forge could be Zone 1 or 4.

If the goal is to have equal amounts of schools in school zones and to try to keep them as close to attendance zones as possible, please see my attachment that depending on numbers could have a possible solution for zones 1 and 4 as it appears zone 4 currently only has 1 or 2 schools in the zone.

ZONE 5 ONLY: thank you for adjusting this zone to include PHE/PHMS. It is imperative that the neighborhoods stick together and do not get split between zones. Neighborhood cohesion is an important tool in keeping families in public schools for our zone.

Thank you for taking our comments, the new map does a much better job at evenly distributing kids across school board zones

It seems as though the most important thing is raw population #s, to the exclusion of logical neighborhood / geographic groupings. The zone lines for Take 2 seem chaotic and capricious - not words I want associated with school board governance. It's giving sacred cows / special interests.

Prefer that Zone 4 include McDermott so it has three schools-compensating by lessening the northern notch of Zone 6 and lessening the western notch of Zone 7 in Zone 6-and perhaps extending Zone 7 a little further west just south of Markham or at Gill St.-to balance with Zone 5
Aaron Conrad
This area of zone 5 should become zone 1 or zone 4 and zone 5 should include all of Kingwood and Cammack Village
Aaron Conrad
This proposal splits the Kingwood neighborhood between zone 5 and zone 1. I believe Kingwood should be in zone 5 and zone 1 can take in more of west little rock instead of following along HWY 10 at seemingly random starting and stopping points.
Aaron Conrad
I don't understand why zone 7 continues westward and why zone 6 is then located to the north and south of zone 7 and includes Oak forest. It looks like Oak forest would be better suited in zone 7.

I like at zone 7

What would it to incorporate sweet home and college Station in to the little Rock school district?
Jasmin
These population totals seem to be inaccurate. What year census was used? Due to inaccurate information, certain school zones will suffer due to not enough resources, this was an issue last year.

I live in the Capitol View-Stifft Station neighborhood and my zone makes no sense. The difference from one side of that zone to the other is culturally totally different. I think it should be split or moved.
Harshita Rastogi
I don't havr any opinions on it because I don't know which school fall under my zone.
